Your methodology. Infinite progressions.
BALERO expands what they can do without telling them how to practice.
Balance shouldn’t be a fixed challenge.
People change. Their strength changes. Their stability changes. Their confidence changes. Their goals change.
The balance challenge should be able to change with them.
Traditional balance tools typically provide a relatively fixed challenge. BALEROboard was designed to give you a range—allowing you to adjust the stability demand while continuing to use the movements and programming that already work for you.
Meet them where they are. Adjust as they progress.
That is Progressive Balance Training.
Same exercise + adjustable stability demand = progressive training.
This becomes our simple definition of the concept.
The BALERO Training Framework
A simple way to understand the tool. Not a new way to practice.
The BALERO Training Framework is designed to help practitioners understand how to incorporate BALEROboard into the methodology they already use.
It isn’t a prescribed workout or protocol.
It’s a practical framework for understanding where someone starts, building the foundation, adjusting the challenge, and ultimately making BALERO your own.
Start with what they can control.
Before increasing the stability demand, understand where the person is today.
Use the assessments, movement screens, observations, and professional judgment already built into your practice to establish the appropriate starting point.
BALERO doesn’t replace your assessment.
It gives you an adjustable starting point once you’ve established the baseline.
Practitioner Rule
Assess → Stabilize → Strengthen → Progress
You determine where someone starts and what they need. BALERO gives you more room to progress from there.
Balance starts with stability.
Joint Stability → Integrated Stability → Strength → Movement → Balance
Before asking the body to manage greater balance demands, establish the foundation needed to create and control movement.
BALERO can introduce adjustable stability demands throughout the body—not just underneath the feet.
Upper Body | Floor
Hands → Elbows → Shoulders
Use upper-body contact with BALERO to introduce stability demands through supported and weight-bearing movements.
Core | Kneeling
Posterior Chain → Upper Traverse → Lower Traverse
Connect upper- and lower-body stability by challenging the body to maintain position and control movement.
Lower Body | Seated → Standing
Hips → Knees → Feet & Ankles
Progress from supported positions toward standing, unilateral, and more dynamic movements.
One common sequence beneath all three:
Mobilize → Stabilize → Strengthen → Progress
BALERO isn’t just something you stand on.
It’s a whole-body stability tool that can be incorporated into the movements you already use.
Keep the exercise. Change the challenge.
Once someone can control the movement, progression doesn’t always require a different exercise—or a different piece of equipment.
Sometimes, you simply change the stability demand.
Same Exercise + Adjustable Stability Demand = Progressive Training
BALERO gives you three primary ways to change the environment:
Adjust the Air
More air creates greater stability. Release air to increase responsiveness and challenge.
Change the Fill
Air creates one type of response. Water creates a slower, shifting resistance. Combine them to create another.
Change the Direction
Rotate the board to change how the body interacts with the internal flow-through chambers, creating a more or less demanding stability challenge depending on the movement.
And that’s only what BALERO changes.
You continue to manipulate the training variables already part of your methodology:
Position • Stance • Support • Vision • Movement • Load • Time • Reps • Tempo • Cognitive Demand • and more
Adjust the board. Adjust the exercise. Or adjust both.
You determine what to progress. BALERO gives you more ways to progress it.
Now make it yours.
Once you understand how BALERO changes the stability demand, start combining it with the movements, exercises, and programming you already use.
Pick 2+ from each:
Upper Body
Hands • Elbows • Shoulders
Core
Posterior Chain • Upper Traverse • Lower Traverse
Lower Body
Hips • Knees • Feet/Ankles
Your BALERO Experience
Then adjust the board and the exercise based on the person, the movement, and the goal.
Restore
Use BALERO within the movements and programming you use to rebuild stability, strength, confidence, and control.
Perform
Layer progressive stability demands into strength, movement, agility, and performance training.
Preserve
Continue challenging stability, strength, coordination, and movement to support the activities people want to keep doing.
Different goals. Different methodologies. Infinite progressions.
Your methodology stays yours.
BALERO simply gives you more ways to progress it.
You choose the assessment.
You choose the exercise.
You choose the goal.
You choose when they’re ready to progress.
BALERO gives you the range.
01
Assess Baseline
Where are they now?
02
Strengthen Foundation
What needs stability and strength?
03
Progress
How can the challenge change?
04
Mash-Up
How does BALERO fit into your programming?
One tool. Infinite possibilities to progress.
Your existing balance tools don’t suddenly become obsolete.
BALERO simply adds something different to your toolbox: an adjustable stability environment that can change with the person using it.
Start more stable. Make small adjustments. Change the fill. Change the direction. Change the exercise. Combine variables.
One tool that can keep changing as the person does.
Your methodology. Infinite progressions.
You don’t need to change the way you practice, coach, or train.
Experience BALEROboard and explore how an adjustable stability tool can fit into what you already do.
